Just when it seemed like Pete Alonso had wrapped up his chapter with the Mets, he made an appearance that caught attention.
This past Saturday, the new $155 million first baseman for the Orioles was spotted at Mets pitcher AJ Minter’s wedding—thanks to some Instagram Stories posted by Alonso’s wife, Haley.
“One last hurrah for the Mets at Minter’s wedding,” Haley wrote in a video showing guests in cowboy hats toasting during the event.
Minter, who joined the Mets in 2025 and recorded a 1.64 ERA across 13 games, celebrated his marriage to Anna Hardy after nearly a decade in baseball. He proposed to her under a beautifully lit walkway leading to an arch adorned with flowers.
In an emotional Instagram post, Minter shared, “I’ve always dreamed of this day but wasn’t sure if it would honestly come. But God’s timing is always perfect. I can safely say that I am the luckiest man in the world. I have found my soulmate, my best friend, and the love of my life. Anna Machel, you are everything I ever wanted and everything I ever needed. Cheers to 2025. Babydoll, I love you and can’t wait to marry you!”
Haley also highlighted the glamorous wedding, sharing moments like fellow Mets pitcher Max Kranik’s wife, Emma Henseth Kranik, getting down on the dance floor.
Alonso was seen chatting with another guest who was in a stylish cowboy hat.
Having recently signed a five-year deal with the Orioles, the 31-year-old slugger closed his time with the Mets after seven seasons with the team.
He expressed gratitude to his fans in a heartfelt farewell message, reflecting on how those years molded him into who he is today.
During his introductory speech in Baltimore, Alonso expressed he had “no hesitation” about pursuing new challenges and adventures in this next chapter.
Reports indicated that the Mets opted not to extend a contract offer to Alonso, as it became apparent he was considering bids that exceeded their budgetary comfort.
