Mets WAGs toasted with champagne as New York clinched a playoff berth with an 8-7 win over the Braves in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Monday.
Some of the players' wives and families took part in the action at a private gathering in Milwaukee, according to first baseman Pete Alonso's wife, Haley Alonso, who posted the location on her Instagram Story.
Haley passionately talked about how proud he is of the 2019 National League Rookie of the Year and two-time Home Run Derby champion.
“Played 162 games. Second in Met history to play every game in a season,” Haley wrote on her Instagram Story, along with a photo of Alonso with his arms raised.
“You post every day, I couldn’t be more proud of you!!!”
Rosmarie Severino, wife of pitcher Luis Severino, shared a video of women shouting “Let's go Mets!” The Mets came back from a 3-0 deficit and scored six runs in the eighth inning to take Game 1 and advance to the postseason.
Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor hit the winning two-run homer at Atlanta's Trust Park, clinching the victory.
The Braves won the second game 3-0, clinching a spot in the postseason.
“Women are supporting our men behind the scenes,” Lindor's wife, Katia Leggero Lindor, wrote on her Instagram Story, along with a blue and orange heart emoji.
“We did it!” a chorus of women can be heard singing in Severino's video.
Francis Mendoza, wife of Mets manager Carlos Mendoza. Jessica Stanek, wife of pitcher Ryne Stanek. Mary Garrett, wife of pitcher Reed Garrett. Caitlin Mayton, wife of pitcher Phil Mayton. Michelle Quintana, wife of pitcher Jose Guillermo Quintana, was also all seen in the video.
The Mets will face the Brewers in the wild-card round starting Tuesday in Milwaukee.
