Pete Crow Armstrong was making quite the impression on the red carpet for the MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta on Tuesday night.
The 23-year-old walked with his girlfriend, Hailey Lovell, and both were full of smiles as fans cheered his name, chanting “Pete, Pete, Pete, Pete!”
He’s having an impressive season with the Cubs, earning a spot as the center fielder for the National League All-Star team.
“It’s the best. It’s my first red carpet,” Crow Armstrong shared with the Marquee Sports Network. “I’ve got a beautiful person beside me, and I’m just glad he’s holding my sweaty hand.” His light-hearted comment drew laughter from Lovell, who was right there during the interview.
The couple has been together for about a year and a half. Crow Armstrong mentioned to GQ that they originally met in December 2023 at the wedding of Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker, a former baseball player.
On the field, PCA has been performing well, with a batting average of .265, 25 home runs, and 71 RBIs this season.
He also boasts 27 stolen bases, making him the third player in major league history to reach 25 home runs and 25 steals before the All-Star break.
Crow Armstrong, the son of actors Ashley Crow and Matthew John Armstrong, embraced the All-Star experience on Tuesday night. He had a personalized bat named “Clark Za Cub.” Interestingly, when he first came up to bat, he didn’t use the blue bat featuring the Cubs mascot, but managed to hit a double against Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon instead.
He enjoyed a friendly moment with Javier Baez, who was traded from the Cubs to the Mets in 2021.
“Did you think you would be playing center field in the All-Star Game?” Crow Armstrong asked Baez in a video shared on social media.
“Honestly, no. I’m a bit nervous right now,” Baez replied. “Hopefully, I won’t mess up.”
