On Friday, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) said on CNN's “News Central” that Defense Secretary Pete Hegses and national security adviser Michael Waltz should not be in the government after using cues to chat between senior national security officials.
“I want to know, will they continue to use this type of chat environment for future operations? No one has answered that. And at least on our part, we should ask all intelligence agencies and all military personnel when they are sworn in front of Congress.
He said, “This was a military strike with no security awareness about who was in the chat. And John, Americans, won't fall into gas about this. They know that if someone else in the military or intelligence news community does this, they'll lose access to the classified information if they leave. What Donald Trump is showing by keeping them is the complete lack of accountability.”
