Pete Hegseth's mother, Penelope Hegseth, told Fox News Channel's “Fox & Friends” Wednesday that her son's personality makes him suitable for the post of defense secretary.

“Let me start by making two statements. One is to President Trump. And I want to say thank you for believing in my son. We all believe in him,” Hegseth said. . We truly believe he's not the man he was seven years ago. I'm not that mother.”
She added, “So the other thing I want to say is, I'm here to tell the truth. I want to tell the American people the truth and tell the senators on the Hill, especially the women senators. “I'm here to tell you the truth,” he added. I really wish people would listen to Pete and not listen to the media. ”

How difficult is divorce for families? There are feelings, we say something, and I wrote it in a hurry. I wrote this with deep emotion. I wrote this as a parent. And after about two hours, my husband told me I should think about it for a second. A little more. But Pete and I are both very passionate people. I wrote it out of love. Approximately two hours later, he withdrew his request via email apologizing. But no one sees it. So it was a difficult time. ”
She added: “I have a son who is very smart. I have a son who is a leader. I've known that since he was two years old.”
