PGA picks for TPC Twin Cities

The major season came to an end last week with Xander Schauffele’s victory at Royal Troon Golf Club.

Currently, with golfers around the world taking time off in some cases, there are roughly nine months until the next major tournament.

That’s especially true this week, with Tony Finau priced at 11/1 to win the 3M Open on FanDuel. Just seven days ago, Finau was priced at 50/1 to win the British Open.

With the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm not in the mix, you’ll have to dig a little deeper into the leaderboard to find a worthy player and maybe a winner.

TPC Twin Cities features water hazards on 15 of the 18 holes, making it a long week for anyone whose drives miss every now and then.

Accuracy will be crucial and the winner of the 3M Open will undoubtedly be showing off some impressive trajectories onto the greens as he tries to avoid the hazards and clinch victory.

3M Open Predictions

The gamble in the Twin Cities is to get a golfer who can not only putt with the best of them, but who is also a top-notch iron player.

These players usually have a birdie fest all weekend and score a fair few birdies.

Finau is interesting simply because he hits the ball hard. He is arguably the most proven ball-striker on the field.

I’d pass on this price for now because his driving has been awful since the first day at Royal Troon Golf Club and if he misses any spots it could be a long night.

Akshay Bhatia is one golfer worth considering at 20/1 on most sportsbooks.

Bhatia has been playing some great golf recently, with excellent accuracy on his iron shots, and is also putting in impressive form.

In a tournament that is expected to be very competitive, he is the third favorite to win.

Prediction: Akshay Bhatia to win (20/1, FanDuel)
