The PGA Tour announced the names of new sponsors for its annual Charlotte tournament on Tuesday.
Truist Financial Corporation, Quail Hollow Club and the Tour have signed a seven-year agreement to become the next title sponsor.
It will be the Truist Championship, not the Wells Fargo Championship.
Quail Hollow will remain the venue except in 2025. It will remain one of eight signature events on the PGA Tour schedule.
Next year’s tournament will be held May 5-11 at the Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course – Quail Hollow is absent for a year as it will be hosting the PGA Championship – and will mark just the second time the famed Charlotte-based course will host a major championship.

The change is one of the latest sponsorship shakeups the Tour has undergone this year.
The Honda Championship has been renamed the Cognizant Classic, and one of the events held annually in Texas, Byron Nelson, has signed a title sponsorship deal with Korean food company CJ Group.
The annual Kentucky event has changed its name from the Barbasol Championships to the ISCO Championships.
Not to mention, the PGA Tour added two more events to the schedule: the Myrtle Beach Classic and the Black Desert Championship.
The Myrtle Beach Classic was a reverse-field event for the newly named Truist Championship, with the Q held in Myrtle Beach and some of the biggest names in YouTube golf competing for spots against the pros.
The Black Desert Championship will make its PGA Tour debut this fall from Oct. 10-13 in Ivins, Utah.
There are a lot of changes happening to the PGA Tour and its schedule. With the launch of LIV Golf and the astronomical money involved in the Saudi Arabia-backed league, the PGA Tour has had to add incentives to retain players.
From the PIP program to eight signature events with huge prize money and 700 FedEx Cup points on the line, it’s part of the ever-changing world of golf.
