He described Makena as a genuinely thoughtful individual, whose selflessness was deeply appreciated. “We created countless unforgettable memories together,” he said in a statement, expressing just how hard it is to come to terms with her passing.

Knapp continued to reflect on her incredible family and friends, stating, “She brought so much joy and energy into our lives. It’s hard to articulate the magnitude of this loss, especially for her loved ones who deserve space and respect during such a tough time.”

White’s death was revealed earlier that same day on her Instagram account. A statement from a friend expressed profound sadness, sharing, “I’m heartbroken to inform you that Makena passed away earlier this week.” It also mentioned the void left for her father, family, friends, and her beloved dogs, Nelly and Fergie.

A friend remembered White for her immense capacity for love and joy. “Being loved by Makena was a true gift. She filled life with laughter and the perfect amount of chaos to keep up with her adventures,” the post conveyed.

White had been in a relationship with Knapp for two years, celebrating his achievements like his 2024 Mexican Open win. The couple was known for appearing together at various golf events.

As for the circumstances surrounding her death, no details have been disclosed yet.

In her last post, White fondly reflected on their relationship, sharing photos from their experiences at golf tournaments. She expressed her gratitude for being a part of Knapp’s journey, hinting at the more memories yet to come.
