The eight signature events – with roughly 70 players and generous prize money – will be played at the same venues they were in in 2024, with the exception of the Truist Championship. Formerly known as the Wells Fargo Championship, the Truist Championship will rebrand and hold its first event at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in early May, one week before the PGA Championship. Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Club, which has hosted the Wells Fargo Championship for more than 20 years, will host the season’s second major next year, with the signature event heading to the City of Brotherly Love.
Another change to the signature event schedule is the Memorial Tournament, which will return to its traditional date on the calendar in early June. The Memorial Tournament will swap locations with the RBC Canadian Open, which will take place one week before the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Speaking of the RBC Canadian Open, Canada’s flagship event will be held at TPC Toronto in Osprey Valley. This will be the first time the golf club has hosted it. Another tournament that will change venue is the BMW Championship, the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, which will be held at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. Unlike TPC Toronto, which has never hosted a PGA Tour event, Caves Valley Golf Club last hosted the world’s best players in 2021, when Patrick Cantlay won his second consecutive BMW Championship in a playoff against Bryson DeChambeau. Cantlay also won the FedEx Cup that year.
Of course, the FedEx Cup Finals will once again be held at the Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Tour is set to host a total of 39 events as part of the 2025 schedule, including eight signature events, the 51st Players Championship, four majors, 18 full-field events and five additional events running alongside the three signature events, the Genesis Scottish Open and the British Open.
