In the Mets vs. Marlins game in Jupiter, Florida, Phil Bickford pitched six scoreless innings with one strikeout, resulting in a 6-3 victory.

The right-hander, who is a candidate for a vacant spot in the bullpen, struggled in his first appearance in camp, but has not allowed an earned run in his last four appearances.

The Mets have two back-to-back games in the state against Lakeland and Tampa (Tigers and Yankees) over the next two days, and will be fielding a number of starting pitchers.

Thursday schedule

Dom Hamel is scheduled to face the Tigers in Lakeland, Florida, with Austin Adams and Michael Tonkin also expected to pitch.
