Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect in connection with the shooting death of an 88-year-old military veteran while sitting in his car in broad daylight earlier this month.
The shooting occurred in the 100 block of North Dewey Street on March 5 at approximately 1:35 p.m., according to a police news release.
According to FOX 29 Philadelphia, the victim, Richard Butler, was sitting in his SUV when a suspect approached the vehicle and fired multiple shots, striking him twice in the chest.
Butler later died from his injuries.

Police released video footage Friday that shows the suspect wearing a gray hoodie and black shorts over black tights. The video also showed the suspect driving a silver 2018-2019 Nissan Altima with dark tinted windows, a dented passenger side panel and a Pennsylvania license plate.
The silver Altima used by the suspect and the getaway driver was captured on surveillance video under an electric vehicle along Market Street in West Philadelphia.
Police said the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

The suspect allegedly got out of the car, waited for Butler to drop off his girlfriend at the corner of Dewey Street, then approached the car and fired five times.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact police. A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
