Philadelphia TSA officers seize box cutter hidden in bandage wrapped around man’s arm

A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer working at Philadelphia International Airport stopped a man after he was found to have a box cutter hidden in a bandage wrapped around his arm.

Lisa Farbstein, a TSA spokeswoman for the Northeast region, said in a post on X that the man alerted agents to the discovery after he set off an alarm at the airport security checkpoint.

While searching for the man, investigators unwrapped an ACE bandage on his lower arm and discovered a box cutter.

“When a man’s hand wrapped in ACE-branded rubber wrap set off an alarm at a security checkpoint, [Philadelphia International Airport] recently, [TSA] “Officers searched the man's arms and discovered a wrapped hand and a box cutter knife hidden under the wrist,” Farbstein wrote.

fox 29 No charges were filed immediately after the discovery, according to reports in Philadelphia.

Fahlbstein did not immediately respond to inquiries from Fox News Digital about why he was not indicted.

The spokesperson also posted images of other weapons seized at TSA checkpoints in her area on Tuesday. These include an ax removed from a traveler's carry-on baggage at a TSA checkpoint at New York's LaGuardia Airport and a machete seized during a shootout. Another checkpoint at JFK International Airport in New York.

Last year, TSA officers at Philadelphia International Airport seized a record 45 guns.
