A Phoenix firefighter was arrested on suspicion of causing more than $25,000 in damage to a townhome after the townhouse resident threatened to cheat on his wife.

Detectives said Knauss had been involved in a dispute with a townhome resident over his romantic relationship with the resident’s girlfriend. The resident was said to have planned to speak to Knaus’ wife about the incident.

In response, Knaus allegedly sent the resident a text message saying, “I know where you live,” and threatened to take his life.
