According to police, the robber pretending to be in mourning violently attacked the Harlem funeral director.
The still-large con man saw the 66-year-old funeral director at his office at Daniels Wilhelmina Funeral Home on February 17th as pretending to arrange a funeral, the NYPD said as he released a video on Wednesday.
But he “sought money, punched the victims in his head multiple times and showed them a machete,” the NYPD said.
He stole the director's phone and wallet before he escaped. The superintendent refused to see a doctor, officers said.
Surveillance footage showed the suspect walking and chatting with someone in the street while wearing a brightly colored coat over a dark pants, a shirt and tie.

Anyone with information about this incident will be asked to call the NYPD Crime Stopper Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
