Pro wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, a notable name in Hollywood, passed away recently at the age of 71.

Authorities in Clearwater, Florida, responded to a cardiac arrest call Thursday morning, where Hogan was later declared dead at Morton Plant Hospital.

Born Terry Borea, Hogan is considered one of the biggest stars in WWE history. He was a major draw during the inaugural WrestleMania in 1985, remaining a prominent figure alongside legends like Andre the Giant and Randy Savage, as well as Vince McMahon, the company’s chairman.

In a statement, WWE expressed its sorrow at Hogan’s passing, highlighting his role in making WWE a global brand during the 1980s. They also extended condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.

Fellow wrestler and longtime friend Rick Flair shared his shock on social media, reminiscing about Hogan’s support throughout their wrestling careers.

Hogan held at least six WWE Championships and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.
