Pistons’ Cade Cunningham has ingredients to join pantheon of Knicks villains

To be clear about this at first, not all the great Madison Square Garden villains are great players either. For example, PJ Brown. He was a good, serviceable player for 15 years. He even finished 14th in the one-year MVP poll as a member of the 2004-05 Hornets (and yes, I had to triple that too).

However, he became the villain of Pantheon Gardens on the evening of May 14, 1997. He was initially caught up in Charlie Ward in the dying seconds of WWE Maneuver, who sacrificed the series upside down and the best support Patrick Ewing had ever won a chance.

And it’s just as important. Not all players who torture and torch the Knicks are automatically villains. For example, Michael Jordan caused 100 Marox moments on a visit to the garden, but the concept of Full House chanting “F-MJ!” sparked the concept. Even wearing an Eagles cassock is as immeasurable as the Pope gets booed with St. Patrick.

Earl Monroe was given similar passive respect when Pearl played for the Baltimore bullet, and was the only player in the league to overtake Clyde Frasier in the yard before joining forces in 1971.
