Plane circles Fenway Park to call on John Henry to sell the Red Sox

Red Sox Fans Demand Changes

Boston Red Sox supporters are clearly frustrated and are calling for significant changes within the organization.

Recently, a plane flew over Fenway Park during batting practice, towing a banner that read, “Burn Craig! Sell the team!”

The aircraft, which sported the Underdog logo, circled the area for about an hour but departed before the Red Sox secured a 3-1 victory against the Astros.

A spokesperson from Underdog remarked, “Fans deserve to be heard. We want to amplify their voices.”

The protest was directed at Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow and team owner John Henry, who have received backlash following the team’s disappointing 13-19 record to start the season.

After a dominant 17-1 win over the Orioles last Saturday, the Red Sox leadership opted to make major adjustments. This included firing manager Alex Cora and four other coaches, also reassigning Jason Varitek within the organization in hopes of turning the season around after finishing last in the American League East. Chad Tracy stepped in as interim manager.

This rocky start is especially disheartening for fans, given that the team made the playoffs last season as a wild card. There was an expectation that they would at least remain competitive this year, but that hasn’t happened.

Younger players like Roman Anthony and Marcelo Meyer haven’t met expectations at the plate, and Caleb Durbin, who was traded from the Brewers to effectively replace Alex Bregman at third, is batting just .176. Compounding the situation, Kyle Harrison, sent to Milwaukee in the same trade, boasts an impressive 2.28 ERA in five starts.

“I think everyone is still processing what happened last week,” Durbin mentioned, referring to the recent turmoil, adding that for players, it’s business as usual when they arrive at the stadium. “Over time, everything will settle down and return to some degree of normalcy.”

To make matters worse, ace pitcher Garrett Crochet has landed on the 15-day injured list due to shoulder inflammation.

Since Cora’s dismissal, the Red Sox have recorded three wins and two losses.
