An unknown number of people were injured when a plane crashed in a parking lot in a Pennsylvania Retirement Community on Sunday afternoon.
The crash occurred in a compatriot village in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. After witnessing a fireball and seeing black smoke released from the aircraft, security guards confirmed the incident with Fox News Digital.
Lititz resident Joseph Smith told Fox News Digital that the plane took off from nearby Lancaster airport before crashing quickly.

Smith, who witnessed the chaos in the car park across the street, said the area smelled like jet fuel.
“The smell of the JP-4 is hanging in the air when they worked to control it,” he explained.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed a collision with Fox News Digital on Sunday.
“A beech bonanza crashed in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Sunday, March 9th around 3pm local time,” the statement read. “Five people were on board. The FAA will investigate.”

Authorities are actively investigating the incident. Fox News Digital has sought additional information from the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office and the Pennsylvania State Police.
