Plane Crashes Into Vehicles On Texas Highway, Splits In Half; 4 Injured

A small plane landed on a south Texas highway Wednesday and then crashed into three cars, injuring at least four people. Officials said the twin-engine propeller plane broke in two after the crash, with pieces scattered across a busy road.

According to reports, the plane crashed on State Route 463 in Victoria, South Texas, around 3 p.m. NBC.

Four people were taken to the hospital with injuries in the accident, three of them with non-life-threatening injuries. The fourth person was transferred to another facility for advanced treatment, police said.

“We're glad it wasn't worse than it is now. This is not something we see every day,” Victoria Police Deputy Chief Elaine Moya told reporters.

“But I'm glad that people seem to be OK and are getting tested,” she added.

The moments before the collision and the aftermath were captured on camera by observers on the road. The footage, which has been widely shared on social media, shows the plane flying very low before landing on the road.

Video then shows the plane breaking into two near a freeway overpass, with pieces scattered across the road.

According to reports, the plane was a twin-engine Piper PA-31 with only the pilot on board at the time of the crash. fox news digital.

Victoria Police and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have launched an investigation into the crash.

The plane took off from Victoria Regional Airport at around 9:52 a.m. and had been flying for about five hours before the crash, FlightAware reported.
