Playing in Game 7 against the Thunder

“Mr. Nugget” Make its Mark this Season

Aaron Gordon, the playoff star and championship-winning forward, is gearing up to play in Game 7 against the Thunder this Sunday. Despite grappling with a Grade 2 hamstring strain that affected him in Denver’s Game 6 victory, he’s determined to push through.

The Nuggets, currently situated in Oklahoma City, are facing the top-seeded Thunder in the semi-finals. This matchup will determine who will advance to the Western Conference Finals against the Timberwolves.

The Western Conference Finals will kick off on Tuesday evening, with the winner of Sunday’s Game 7 set to host the opening game.

Gordon’s hamstring injury may require an extended recovery period owing to its unpredictable nature. Still, he’ll give it his all as Denver’s season hangs in the balance.

Initially, there was some doubt about his participation, especially with just two days of recovery time between Games 6 and 7.

A similar situation occurred for Stephen Curry, who suffered a hamstring injury during Game 1 while facing the Timberwolves. Unfortunately, the Warriors superstar didn’t play again in that series, which Minnesota won 4-1.

It was anticipated that Curry might have a chance to return for Game 6 after a week’s rest, pending a re-evaluation. However, Gordon’s situation is a bit different.

In the postseason, Gordon has been a key asset for the Nuggets, averaging 16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists over about 38 minutes per game. His impact includes crucial plays like a buzzer-beating dunk against the Clippers in Game 4 and a last-second three-pointer in Game 1 against the Thunder, which gave Denver an early 1-0 lead.

Even though he participated in Saturday’s team walkthrough, interim head coach David Adelman mentioned that Gordon’s availability will depend on how he feels and medical advice.

Gordon is recognized as the team’s most versatile defender and a critical offensive partner for MVP Nikola Jokic. The game’s tip-off is set for 3:30 PM at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
