Podcaster Theo Von chokes fan at Nashville bar: video

Comedian and podcast host Theo Fong found himself in a tense situation recently when he confronted a man allegedly bothering him at a Nashville bar, an incident that was captured on video.

The footage shows a man holding a bunch of golden birthday balloons approaching Fong, who is 45, at the 12 30 club in Nashville on May 2. The man seems to grab Fong’s shoulder while standing with friends at the bar.

After exchanging some heated words, the interaction escalates. In the video, the man appears to lose his temper and charges at Fong.

In response, Fong grips the man by the throat and pushes him away, as the video reveals.

Fong seems to try to avoid further conflict, but he holds his hat down and glares at the man as they engage in another brief exchange.

The man with the balloons was part of a group that allegedly harassed Fong, with reports indicating they claimed to be filming him to provoke a reaction.

Nashville Police reported that a misdemeanor assault complaint was filed at the bar on May 4, but no further action has been taken by investigators.

Fong opted not to comment on the incident when asked.

In a separate event, Fong appeared as a surprise guest for President Trump during his visit to U.S. troops in Qatar on Thursday. He is recognized for having interviewed Trump ahead of the upcoming 2024 election.

It remains unclear whether Fong’s appearance in Qatar was coincidental or planned, as he greeted some of the approximately 13,000 service members stationed at Al Udeid Air Force Base. Notably, Trump’s daughter and son-in-law, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, also joined the visit.

Originally from Louisiana, Fong, who now resides in Nashville, is currently on his “Return of the Rat” tour across the nation.
