Police Accuse West Virginia Librarian of Trying to Recruit Assassins for Trump

Arrest Made Over Threatening Assassin Recruitment Video

The Sheriff’s Department in Jackson County, West Virginia, announced on Sunday night that they arrested a librarian for posting a video that sought an assassin targeting President Donald Trump.

Morgan L. Morrow, a 39-year-old from Ripley, faces charges for making terroristic threats. The arrest was made public shortly after 9:30 p.m. ET, just hours after the video appeared on TikTok. The Sheriff’s Facebook page mentioned the incident, and additional details are expected as the investigation unfolds.

According to the sheriff’s statement, Morrow was taken into custody following a thorough investigation by deputies and the local Bureau of Investigations. The post indicated that she was, in fact, recruiting individuals to track and assassinate the President, and noted that the case raises serious and concerning issues.

Interestingly, Sheriff R.H. Mellinger emphasized that this shouldn’t be seen as a political statement; rather, it’s an ongoing criminal investigation.

Efforts to get comments from the White House and the Department of Homeland Security on the arrest went unanswered.

The video in question contained a caption that raised eyebrows, suggesting that finding a “terminally ill sniper” should not be too difficult considering the U.S. population. It also hinted at the potential targeting of other high-profile individuals, including Stephen Miller and tech figures like Larry Ellison and Peter Thiel.

Notably, Trump has been the target of two assassination attempts during the ongoing 2024 presidential race. One such incident involved Thomas Crooks, who fired multiple shots at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, hitting Trump. Another attempt was thwarted when Secret Service agents apprehended Ryan Wesley Routh, who was found armed near Trump’s golf course.

Violence against conservatives has been a growing concern, exemplified by the assassination of Charlie Kirk during a debate event in Utah. Additionally, independent journalists Nick Souter and Cam Higbie faced threats while covering disruptions to Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations.
