Alexandra Paul Arrested at Animal Rights Rally
Actress Alexandra Paul, known for her role on “Baywatch,” was reportedly taken into custody on March 15 during an animal rights demonstration in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin.
Sources indicate that the 62-year-old was part of a protest with around 50 to 60 participants who allegedly trespassed on the Ridge Run Farms property early in the morning. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Paul was among approximately 20 individuals arrested during the event.
Ridge Run Farms is notably one of the few large dog breeding facilities left in the U.S. that continues to use dogs for scientific research. Reports from an ABC affiliate highlight these ongoing practices, which have drawn considerable public attention.
It’s still uncertain whether the actress was released after her arrest.
According to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, some activists entered the facility and began taking dogs from the premises. While a few dogs were recovered by authorities, others remain missing.
In the midst of the situation, law enforcement has seized two vehicles along with burglary tools and other items as part of their investigation. Sheriff Calvin Barrett expressed an understanding of the public’s passion regarding the treatment of animals at Ridge Run Farms, stating that the department respects the right to peaceful protest.
Barrett emphasized that the police’s role is to ensure safety and respond to illegal activities, encouraging those concerned about animal welfare to engage through lawful and constructive means.
This isn’t Paul’s first brush with the law; she has a history of activism that has led her into legal trouble before. Back in September 2021, she faced a misdemeanor theft charge for allegedly taking two chickens from a Foster Farms truck, although she was later found not guilty in March 2023.
Additionally, Paul faced incident-related challenges in 2017 when she was asked to leave a dairy farm during a protest.
