Police Arrest Famous Rock Band Member Boyd Tinsley For DUI: REPORT

Police arrested Dave Matthews alumnus Boyd Tinsley on Monday on suspicion of drunk driving after Tinsley allegedly crashed into another vehicle.

The famous violinist was arrested after police were called to investigate a two-vehicle crash in Rio, Virginia, police sources said. TMZThe outlet published video footage of the moments leading up to Tinsley’s arrest, which showed officers speaking with him and the situation appearing calm and under control. Police officials said officers spoke with Tinsley for about 20 minutes before handcuffing him and arresting him.

Witnesses to the accident told TMZ that Tinsley was driving an Escalade when it crashed into the Corvette. Both drivers stopped and got out to check on the damage, sources said. Witnesses told the outlet that the other driver began to notice something was wrong while interacting with Tinsley. The Corvette driver called police to the scene, who took over handling the accident, sources told TMZ.

According to records obtained by the outlet, the former Dave Matthews Band member was processed at 9:30pm, posted bail and was released about an hour later.

This is not the star’s first run-in with authorities.

TMZ reports that former Crystal Garden member James Frost Winn has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Tinsley, which she denies, and the pair have reportedly reached an out-of-court settlement.

According to TMZ, Tinsley was also sued in February for allegedly violating a non-disparagement clause in a settlement over her online conduct. (RELATED: Justin Timberlake’s lawyer releases statement revealing new details about star’s DUI arrest)

No information has been provided about the famous musician’s upcoming court date, and it is unclear whether he underwent field sobriety tests before his arrest.
