Police Arrest Students At Yale University As Hundreds Stage Anti-Israel Protest

Police clashed with students on Yale University’s Connecticut campus Monday morning and began arresting students who had been engaged in anti-Israel protests for several days.

Video footage posted online showed police arriving on campus and blocking the entrance to the New Haven campus plaza, where an estimated 200 protesters had gathered.

The newspaper said police told the students they would be arrested if they did not continue their protest and leave. Yale Daily News.

Meanwhile, dozens of protesters were handcuffed and taken away on Yale University shuttle buses on charges of trespassing.

Following the brutal incident, Yale University President Peter Salovey responded by emailing all students Sunday night as protests continued, saying the university would “take disciplinary action in accordance with policy.”

“Many of the students participating in the protests, including those who are counter-protesting, are acting peacefully. “We are aware of reports of egregious behavior, including other harmful acts,” he wrote.

“Yale University does not tolerate conduct that includes language that threatens, harasses, or threatens members of the university’s Jewish, Muslim, or other communities.

“The Yale Police Department investigates each report and will take action as necessary, including inquiries into student discipline.”
