Police Arrested Pro-Palestinian Protester Armed With Gun at USF

Pro-Palestinian protester Ata Osman was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of possessing a gun on the campus of the University of South Florida.

fox 13 report Osman was one of nine other people arrested, all aged between 20 and 39.

All arrested were charged with “unlawful assembly,” among other charges. Charges other than “unlawful assembly” include trespassing, “resisting an officer without violence” and “aggravated assault with a weapon with intent to commit a felony.”

Osman’s charges include “possession of a firearm on school grounds,” which is a felony.

tampa bay times I got it. The 10 people arrested Tuesday were part of about 100 people who gathered near MLK Plaza and were dispersed by police with tear gas, officials said.

On Wednesday, a larger group of protesters (approximately 250 to 300 people) marched toward the square and then returned to their starting point without incident.
