A suspect has been apprehended after allegedly stealing cash from an ATM, and the incident was captured on video, showcasing him throwing large amounts of money out of an SUV window during a police pursuit in Texas. This occurred around 6 p.m. on September 16 in Pearland, Texas.
Officers were alerted when reports came in about a masked individual making multiple transactions with several different cards at a bank.
Following this, two men entered a nearby car and drove to a parking lot. When police located them, the passenger exited the vehicle, while the driver accelerated, prompting a chase.
In footage recorded by police cameras, the driver was seen tossing bundles of cash from the moving SUV while fleeing from the police.
Ultimately, more than $6,000 was collected by law enforcement. The driver, identified as Levon Steven Jr. from Florida, has been charged with evading arrest and tampering with evidence. The passenger, Tarvares Givens, also from Florida, faces charges for failure to identify himself.
Authorities mentioned that the investigation is ongoing and that more fraud-related charges could be forthcoming. Currently, both suspects are being held at the Brazoria County Jail.
