Police Claim Suspected Drug Dealer's Parrot Exposed Foolish Scheme

Parrot Aids Police in Drug Bust

Authorities have made significant progress in dismantling a drug ring in the UK, partly thanks to a pet parrot linked to a suspected dealer. Adam Garnett, 35, a prominent member of the gang, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after police seized multiple cell phones from him.

Investigators found that Garnett’s girlfriend, 29-year-old Shannon Hilton, was also involved in the operation. When they examined her phone, they stumbled upon footage of the parrot, which ultimately played a crucial role in breaking the case wide open.

The video reportedly showed Hilton teaching the parrot to say “25 to 2!”—a code phrase, as suggested by the police, for the drug price. Additionally, law enforcement discovered footage of the parrot interacting with money that was obtained through illegal means.

Despite being incarcerated, Garnett continued orchestrating activities related to the group, making it hard for authorities to track down their operations. The police managed to seize various drugs, including heroin, crack cocaine, and cannabis, along with several cell phones.

In total, 15 individuals associated with the Blackpool drug ring have been arrested and charged. Garnett, facing two conspiracy charges related to the supply of Class A drugs, received an additional sentence of nearly 20 years on top of his current prison time. Hilton was also charged with possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and received a 12-year sentence. All those charged have pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court.
