Police File Charges Against Trey Songz Following Alleged Nightclub Incident

Trey Songz Faces Assault Charges

Police have charged R&B singer Trey Songz with several offenses, including assault, harassment, and criminal mischief, related to two distinct incidents.

Recently filed court documents claim that Songz vandalized property at a hookah lounge in midtown Manhattan on a Sunday. Allegedly, he caused damage exceeding $1,500 to various items, including hookah setups and DJ equipment. Following his arrest, a police computer check revealed he was also wanted for allegedly assaulting a nightclub employee in Times Square earlier on December 4th.

As reported, sources indicate that Songz became frustrated when an employee asked him and his group to leave because the venue was closing. It’s alleged that during the interaction, the employee grabbed Trey’s arm, leading him to punch the employee in the face, resulting in pain and swelling.

In light of these claims, prosecutors charged him in connection with both incidents. When he appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court, Songz pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released without bail.

An attorney for Songz, Mitchell Schuster, stated that he is fully cooperating with the investigation and looks forward to the truth emerging. He also mentioned a separate incident where Songz faced provocation from individuals attempting to confront him, and that his security stepped in to manage the situation, resulting in an altercation.

Schuster emphasized that public figures are often targets for sensationalism and financial exploitation, suggesting that the facts will clarify the situation.
