Police have not yet found an autistic teen who vanished from his Tennessee home on Feb. 26

A Tennessee mother said the morning her 15-year-old son went missing started like any other. However, when she went into his room on February 26 to wake him up to go to school, she noticed that he was not in bed and was nowhere to be found. Independent.

Sebastian Rogers reportedly has high-functioning autism and was characterized by his mother as “very intelligent.” She went on to say that he was “never a naughty kid”.

Soon after, state and local governments became involved. They searched for Sebastian for more than a week using teams on foot, drones, helicopters and search-and-rescue dogs, the report said.

The intensity of the search diminished, but authorities ended up crossing the state line into Kentucky. An Amber Alert was issued after the boy’s disappearance, but he has not yet been found.

WSMV report An investigation into a landfill in Hopkins County, Kentucky, has been concluded after an “exhaustive effort” to locate the boy, authorities said. There was reportedly no new evidence at the landfill that would reveal Sebastian’s whereabouts.

The initial motive for searching the landfill was reportedly done “in accordance with ongoing investigative operations and information gathered in the search for Rogers,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford said the incident is still being treated as a search-and-rescue operation, but it could soon become a recovery operation if they don’t quickly get a solid lead on Sebastian’s whereabouts. Ta.

“While we had hoped for a different outcome, our determination to find Sebastian remains steadfast,” Weatherford said. “We will continue to consider every avenue and resource available to us to close this case and provide answers to Sebastian’s family and his loved ones.”

Weatherford said officials have not received any specific information directing them to the landfill. However, a garbage truck had passed through the area between Sebastian’s last sighting and his disappearance, so they went there to make sure they hadn’t missed anything.

There has been no evidence that Sebastian has been seen since his sudden disappearance, and authorities have scaled back the search.
