A manhunt is underway for a suspect involved in the murder of a couple, Clinton Brink, 43, and Cristan Brink, 41, who were found dead while hiking with their young daughters at Devil’s Den State Park in Arkansas. This search has now entered its fourth day.
On Monday night, Arkansas State Police released a composite sketch of a man believed to be a person of interest, described as wearing a baseball cap.
Authorities noted they were looking into “interested people” seen in the park on Saturday, the same day the couple died on a trail.
The couple’s daughters, aged 9 and 7, are reportedly safe and with family. While police haven’t disclosed specific details about the circumstances surrounding the couple’s deaths, they did mention that the suspect “is likely injured from the attack.” More information was not immediately available.
The Brink family issued a statement requesting privacy but also urged the public to come forward with any information that could aid in the investigation. They expressed deep sorrow, stating, “Clinton and Kristan have lost their heroes, and they deserve justice. They will live forever in all our hearts.”
The couple had recently relocated from South Dakota to Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Their mayor, David Falk, noted that their water was connected just two weeks prior to the incident.
Clinton Brink was set to begin a new job as a milk delivery driver in the Fayetteville area, according to his employer, Hilland Daily.
Descriptions of the suspect include a white male of medium build, wearing a long-sleeved shirt with rolled-up sleeves, dark pants, a dark cap, sunglasses, and fingerless gloves. He was also seen with a black backpack.
Authorities also noted the suspect was driving a black four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with tape obscuring the license plate. The vehicle may have been on Route 170 or 220.
Officials are urging those who visited Devil’s Den on Saturday to review any photos or videos taken during their visit for potential evidence.
The couple’s bodies have been sent to the state crime lab to determine the cause of death.
Devil’s Den State Park is located around 140 miles northwest of Little Rock and is known for its hiking trails and scenic rock formations.
