Texas Police Search for Driver Involved in Hit-and-Run

Authorities in Texas are on the hunt for the driver of a black SUV who allegedly struck and injured an eight-year-old boy last Friday before leaving the scene.

A witness told local officials that the driver appeared to know exactly what had occurred. Reportedly, the driver exited the vehicle, assessed the situation with the injured child, and then sped off.

The victim, identified as Liam Park, a third-grade student, shared with a news outlet that he experienced a loss of vision and severe injuries after being hit. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors indicated he was likely to recover from what could have been serious broken bones, despite the painful abrasions he sustained.

“I went down,” Park recounted, reflecting on the incident. “It really means something when they just leave without checking on me. I’m hurt, and they deserve to be caught.”

Liam was hit near the Mercantile Square Apartment Complex in North Fort Worth; he mentioned that he couldn’t recall all the details right after the impact.

“My vision was blurry when I ran,” he added. “They checked on me briefly and then just drove away. They should have helped.”

His mother, Beilea Christiansen, learned about the accident from Liam’s friend who rushed to inform her. “He came running to tell me that Liam was hit by a car,” she said. She expressed hope that someone nearby might have seen the incident and could provide information to help catch the driver.

Park’s father, Kyle, described it as heartbreaking to witness his son in pain. “Every time I see him, I feel it deeply,” he admitted.

Community members have rallied around the family, checking in on the children and offering support during this difficult time. Meanwhile, police are keeping details about the investigation quiet but have stated that their traffic investigation unit will take over the case.
