Maryland Woman Arrested in Massachusetts for Alleged Criminal Activities

A woman from Maryland has been taken into custody in Massachusetts. Authorities have charged her with several offenses, including destruction of property, and they’ve suggested she might be connected to a widespread organized crime group spanning multiple states.

Details from the Norwood Police indicate that the suspect, along with a Maryland address, is aged between 21 and 42. Charges include conspiracy, possession of tools intended for robbery, and resisting arrest.

This all began Friday afternoon when Norwood police responded to a break-in report at a residence near Nepponsett Street. The homeowners arrived to find multiple women inside their home. Upon confrontation, the intruder fled the scene and jumped into a vehicle, as per the police report.

Police soon located a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect’s. Following a brief chase, six women exited the car and dashed into a nearby wooded area. One suspect was apprehended at that time.

Witnesses noted seeing several women at a business nearby, and ultimately, they were found and taken into custody.

With assistance from a detective, another officer managed to arrest two additional suspects attempting to escape by a nearby river. The last of the suspects was apprehended shortly thereafter.

Norwood Police Chief Padden praised the coordinated efforts of on-duty officers and allied forces, highlighting that all six individuals involved in the break-in were safely taken into custody.

Police confirmed the identities of the women involved, which included Mirabella Caldarau, 42; Jajela Chiki, 41; Flavia Caldar, 22; Emilia Sardar, 36; Mihera Ion, 33; and Elizabeth Sardar, 21. Some suspects were reportedly wanted in relation to similar crimes in other states.

After their arrest, six women faced court on Monday. Three were released on bail but were quickly detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Additionally, two men who arrived to post bail for them also found themselves in ICE custody.

Authorities indicated that the initial investigation hints at an organized group, suggesting the suspects might be involved in criminal activities across various states. Interestingly, this includes the two men who came to help with bail.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Norwood Police Department is collaborating with other jurisdictions as they work to uncover more about this case.
