Police: Missing College Student Riley Strain’s Body Found In Nashville’s Cumberland River

Riley Strain, 22, a University of Missouri (Mizzou) student, went missing after a night out at a bar and her body was found Friday morning in the Cumberland River in West Nashville, about 13 miles from the city center. It was discovered.

Police say there is no suspicion of foul play.

At a press conference Friday morning, Police Chief John Drake said a crew found the body in the Cumberland River just before 7:30 a.m., prompting Metro Nashville Police and Nashville firefighters to respond to the 61 call. said.cent Avenue North.

Drake said the fact that Strain was wearing the same watch and clothes when he disappeared made it easier for authorities to identify him.

Metro Nashville Police said in a social media post that an investigation found no signs of trauma related to criminal activity. Drake said there is “no evidence to suggest anything” other than the possibility that Strain fell into the river unintentionally.

Autopsy results will most likely be released Friday, Drake continued.

Friday at 7:30 p.m. on Gay Street between the Woodland Street Bridge and the James Robertson Parkway Bridge in Nashville, according to representatives from the Crime Seen Collective, a group that raises awareness of missing persons. A candlelight vigil is reportedly being planned.

The Delta Chi fraternity released a statement following the death of their esteemed member Mr. Strain.

“During this incredibly difficult time, our hearts go out to Riley’s family and loved ones, and we are working to provide support and resources to everyone affected by this tragedy. ” the fraternity said in a written statement. “We ask for respect and privacy for Riley’s family and fraternity brothers during this incredibly difficult time.”
