Police returned Wednesday to the Chester, New Jersey, home where Brooke Hanlon was found fatally stabbed nearly five months ago.
Neighbors said at least 15 law-enforcement vehicles were at the Pottersville Road residence, where officers stayed until about 11 p.m. They also saw Hanlon’s husband, Conor, speaking with police that afternoon.
Conor Hanlon has denied involvement in his wife’s death. No arrests have been made. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said it had no new information to share about the investigation.
Hanlon’s autopsy, released weeks ago, classified her death as a homicide caused by sharp-force injuries, consistent with information prosecutors had provided in June. She leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter.
According to a 911 call, Conor Hanlon found his wife unresponsive and asked the dispatcher for instructions on performing CPR. He said he had found a wound on her body and urged the dispatcher to send help immediately.
Neighbors have said Conor Hanlon has regularly returned to the house and spent nights there in recent months. Earlier, he had been splitting his time between Chester and the Boston area, where his family is from.
Investigators have not said whether a weapon was recovered at the scene. Hanlon’s family has previously expressed full confidence in law enforcement’s investigation.
