Suspect Wanted in Two Fatal Shootings Across NYC

Police are on the lookout for a man, Jesus Acosta, in connection with a recent Bronx deli shooting that left a customer dead. Acosta, 31 years old, is also linked to a deadly shooting in Brooklyn that occurred just two days earlier.

The Bronx incident took place around 12:16 a.m. on Tuesday at 149 Grill & Deli. According to authorities, the shooter confronted a 33-year-old man and fired multiple rounds, hitting him in the chest. The victim was quickly transported to Lincoln Hospital, initially reported to be in stable condition, but sadly succumbed to his injuries later that day, prompting police to classify it as a homicide.

Acosta is also wanted for a shooting that happened at 842 Rockaway Avenue in Brooklyn shortly after midnight on Sunday. This earlier incident resulted in the death of a 44-year-old man, while another individual sustained injuries. Reports indicate that the location was American Best Wings & Pizza.

Responding officers discovered the 44-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the head; he was later pronounced dead at One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. The second victim, aged 39, was treated for a leg wound and listed in stable condition.

The NYPD issued a public appeal for information on Acosta, stating, “Have you seen Jesus Acosta? He is wanted for the fatal shooting of a 44-year-old man on 8/23 inside 842 Rockaway Ave in Brooklyn and a robbery from 8/25 at 143 East 149 St in the Bronx.” Following these events, it was confirmed that the victim from the Bronx had also died.

Acosta is described as approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing around 175 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. Notably, he has the word “Bronx” tattooed on his hand and “Bobby” on his left forearm.

Authorities have released surveillance images of Acosta, urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
