Police storm Yale University’s campus with riot gear as hundreds of students stage anti-Israel protest

Police in riot gear began swarming the Yale University campus early Monday, where hundreds of students were holding an anti-Israel protest.

Video posted online showed police arriving at the Ivy League school adjacent to the plaza on the New Haven campus, where about 200 protesters had gathered.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was arrested.

The incident comes after a Jewish student journalist covering the encampment was stabbed in the eye with a Palestinian flag on Saturday night, and protests at Yale University turned violent over the weekend.

The officers’ arrival came after more than 100 protesters were handcuffed and taken away when New York City police were called in to clear a similar protest at Columbia University last week.
