Breitbart News Hosts Policy Event with Secretary of Homeland Security
Breitbart News is organizing a significant policy discussion featuring Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin, focusing on the Trump administration’s efforts to tackle illegal immigration, just weeks before the upcoming midterm elections.
The event, scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in Washington, DC, will be moderated by Matthew Boyle, the Washington Bureau Chief for Breitbart News. The event is a collaboration with CGCN and ALFA Institute.
Boyle emphasized the importance of the immigration issue, calling it the foremost challenge facing the country. He expressed confidence that Secretary Mullin is the right individual to shed light on President Trump’s initiatives to prevent a resurgence of policies that could lead to increased criminal activity from foreign sources.

The timing of Mullin’s event coincides with his recent announcement regarding investigations into 1,620 cases of voter fraud concerning noncitizens casting ballots illegally, leading to 151 arrests; additionally, there are still 300,000 cases that require examination.
“And this number is only increasing,” Mullin shared in an interview. “Right now, we’re investigating 1,620 cases, and we’ve made 151 arrests, with 300,000 more under review. That list just keeps growing day by day,” he stated.
Mullin elaborated further on the process, indicating that states are providing lists from their public voter registrations. The aim is to verify these against legal citizens, lawful permanent residents, and others eligible to vote. “We’re checking against our records to see if they’re on the list or why they voted,” he explained.
In a social media post, he noted, “Every illegal vote negates the vote of a U.S. citizen. Under President Trump’s guidance, we’re intensifying our efforts to combat fraud and ensure the integrity of our elections for the American populace.”
