Political Commentator Calls for International Accountability for the U.S.
On Wednesday, Ellie Mystal, a left-leaning political analyst, expressed on “The Joy Reed Show” that the U.S. should be perceived as a nation that cheats the international community.
“The world needs to recognize us as the bad guys,” Mystal stated. “We’re not just liberating people; at this point, we’re a threat to peaceful nations. And this has been the case for the last few months,” he added.
Mystal specifically referenced President Trump’s airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities from June, asserting that such actions warrant the U.S. being “sanctioned and held accountable” for “illegal and unnecessary” military interventions.
“When will the global community say enough is enough? Sure, we have wealth. But just because we have resources doesn’t mean we should exploit them for foreign policy agendas,” he noted.
Following the strikes on Iran, Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, claiming that the “12-day war” had come to an end.
He is also seeking to establish a truce in the ongoing conflict in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.
During the show, Mystal reiterated that the U.S. needs to seek “authorization” from other nations to engage in military actions.
Despite the escalating tensions in the Middle East, Mystal maintains that the U.S. should be treated as an “illegitimate nation.”
“We shouldn’t use the same tactics we criticize North Korea and China for,” he argued. “Other countries need to recognize our situation and start acting accordingly.”
Mystal did not immediately respond to an inquiry from Fox News Digital.
