Peace Negotiations
In a significant development toward resolving the ongoing conflict, President Vladimir Putin of Russia has consented to a meeting with Ukrainian President Voldimi Zelensky. This announcement was made by White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt during a press conference on Tuesday. She emphasized that there could also be a trilateral meeting with the U.S. following the discussions between Putin and Zelensky, should it be necessary.
“President Trump had a conversation with Putin, and they agreed on initiating this meeting as part of the next phase of the peace process,” Leavitt mentioned. “If needed, a trilateral session will include Presidents Putin, Zelensky, and Trump,” she added.
Leavitt noted that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and special envoy Steve Witkov are actively coordinating with both Russia and Ukraine to expedite this process.
