Former President Donald Trump’s political persecution is “backfiring,” Trump pollster John McLaughlin, CEO and partner at McLaughlin & Associates, said on the show. He said this when he appeared on. Breitbart News Daily.
McLaughlin talked about some of the changes he’s seeing in the polls, saying things certainly seem to be moving in former President Donald Trump’s direction.
He cited a poll from Emerson College in New Jersey that showed Trump within five points. Moreover, the poll was conducted before Trump’s massive rally in the Garden State, which drew an estimated 100,000 people.
“They had [President Joe] Biden was 44th, Trump was 39th…that’s a state he lost by 16 points,” he said, also pointing to the April Siena poll of New York, where Trump was within 10 points.
“We lost 61-38 in 2020, and now we’re within 10… Something happened where we know the trial and political persecution of Donald Trump is backfiring. McLaughlin said.

“We also know that two-thirds of eligible voters vote in the national polls that we publish…We do national polls every month, and when you look at the numbers, , and that goes back to the last election. But we know that two-thirds of voters, 66 percent, say the country is on the wrong path for Biden. They say they disapprove of jobs. They say the economy is worsening, 64 to 31. Inflation is having a negative impact… 48 percent of voters say they can’t afford even basic necessities. , 66 percent say all these political cases against Trump are a problem. 56 percent say Biden played a role in prosecuting Trump,” he explained.
He also said voters (53% to 36%) believe Biden is trying to put Trump in jail to prevent him from becoming president.
“That’s the majority of Americans. …I said President Trump last year. [I] He criticized Biden, describing him as a “ruthless and corrupt president.”
