Far Left Politico The first draft of history tells its foolish and gullible readers that it was a “rally” and not former President Trump that was targeted by assassins in Pennsylvania on Saturday night.
Below is the lead-up to Politico’s front-page story, published at 5 a.m. Sunday (we won’t link to the misinformation):
Headline: “Shooting at Trump rally highlights rising violence as a political reality in America”
Subheading: “Saturday’s violence comes as the government is already facing threats against lawmakers, judges and other senior government officials.”
The shooting at Donald Trump’s Pennsylvania rally is the latest chilling evidence of the rise in violence and intimidation that is rocking contemporary American political discourse.
Already angry and polarized, the country appears bracing for a finger-pointing, even as details about the shooting are only just beginning to emerge.
Yes, according to POLITICOThe would-be assassins didn’t shoot at Trump, they shot at a “rally.”
Don’t you get it? The target wasn’t Trump. It was his “rally.”

The would-be assassins were not trying to assassinate Trump, they were trying to assassinate the “rally.”
So this means the corporate media is mobilizing to do two things… 1) Do everything possible to ensure that Trump is not seen as a victim or a martyr. The rallies are the real victims. 2) After a decade of inflammatory rhetoric about Trump, shift the narrative away from what they see as a politically inconvenient assassination attempt to avoid holding themselves and Joe Biden accountable. Isn’t it a moral obligation to assassinate Hitler?
Donald Trump is a real threat to this country.
He’s a threat to our freedoms. He’s a threat to our democracy. He’s a threat to literally everything America stands for.

The corporate media has already labeled assassination attempts that fell just short of assassination as “Deadly shooting at Trump rally” and “Shooting incident.”
The good news is that none of this works. Yesterday evening, the world changed forever. The corporate media is too frothy and arrogant to understand that the near assassination of a man who had already sacrificed so much for America, a man who remained defiant and preternaturally calm even as he was covered in blood from an assassin’s bullet, is not going to be an incident that can be manipulated into a false call for watering down rhetoric or banning guns.
The playbook is dead.
