Poll: Schumer's approval rating among New Yorkers reaches its lowest level since 2005

A recent survey indicates that Chuck Schumer, the Democratic Senate minority leader, is experiencing the lowest favorability among New Yorkers in two decades.

According to a poll conducted by Siena College, Schumer’s approval rating has fallen significantly. The poll, which has tracked his political career since 2005, shows his current overall rating at 35% approval and 50% disapproval, a notable drop from June’s 41-47%. Among his Democratic colleagues, his favor decreased from 35-55% to a more discouraging 39-49%.

Another national poll revealed that just 23% of adults hold a positive opinion of Schumer, while 51% view him negatively. Even more striking, he ranked as the least favorable Senate leader, achieving only a 17% recognition rating.

When confronted about these dismal results, Schumer responded nonchalantly, stating, “The polls go back and forth. Our party is united.”

The Siena poll was carried out from August 4th to August 7th with 813 registered New York voters participating. It’s clear there are substantial concerns about Schumer’s standing as he navigates this challenging political landscape.
