Top pollster Ann Selzer is retiring from the Des Moines Register's Iowa polling because her shocking presidential poll was so wrong.

“Over a year ago, I notified the Registrar that I would not renew my contract when it expires in 2024 at the latest election poll, as I move on to other businesses and opportunities,” she wrote.
She said she had wanted to make the announcement after polling along with the election results, and acknowledged it was “ironic” that it was the other way around.
“I am proud of the work I have done for the Register, the Detroit Free Press, the Indianapolis Star, Bloomberg News, and other public and private organizations interested in elections,” Selzer wrote. .
Selzer said he has worked with the Register on a contract basis since 1997 and plans to continue working for other clients.
“My integrity means a lot to me, and for those who have questioned it, there will be no deterrent,” she concluded. “To those who know me best, I would like to remind you that what drew me to me as a friend, colleague, and client was my commitment to truth and accuracy, both in my professional and personal relationships.
