Pop Singer and 'Moana' Star Nicole Scherzinger Stands Up for Christianity Amid Criticism

Nicole Scherzinger Reflects on Faith Amid Controversy

Nicole Scherzinger, known for her role as the frontwoman of the Pussycat Dolls and her presence on Broadway, recently shared her thoughts on Christian faith, which she feels has received undue criticism lately.

In a statement during an interview with Variety, Scherzinger discussed how her grandparents were instrumental in shaping her beliefs. She mentioned her mother working various jobs, along with her father, a former Marine, who instilled a lasting trust in her.

She also touched on her father’s journey from atheism to becoming an archbishop in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. “My Tutu’s mother faced many hardships—having had 22 pregnancies and losing four of those. Still, she raised 18 children in a small home without much, but her faith was unwavering. That’s a part of who I am,” she explained.

Scherzinger mentioned the church she attends in Hollywood, expressing that many of her friends share her Christian faith. “Yeah, I see how Christianity can be misunderstood. But it’s essential for true believers to lead by example,” she said.

Her comments come in light of a recent incident where she reacted to a post by Russell Brand, which featured a hat reading “Put Jesus First Again.” Her enthusiastic response faced backlash, prompting her to clarify her stance. “I genuinely care about the marginalized communities affected by recent political outcomes. Those who know me realize my commitment to these issues,” she stated.
