A well-loved burger spot within Hollywood’s iconic Roosevelt Hotel has announced its impending closure after over two decades of service, stirring up quite a reaction in the community.
Known as 25 Degrees, this eatery, celebrated for its mouthwatering burgers and rich milkshakes, has cited the city’s governance and escalating operational costs as primary reasons for its closure.
“To put it simply, operating hotel restaurants in Los Angeles is becoming unsustainable,” the restaurant expressed in an Instagram post. “With rising expenses, new regulations, and decisions from city officials, it’s just too challenging to keep going. We’ve tried our best to endure.”
Since opening in 2005, 25 Degrees has shown appreciation for its loyal patrons.
“You were always the best,” the social media message continued. “From the regulars, the late-night visitors, to those who stumble in at 1 a.m.—you’ve all become a part of our daily lives. You made this place special.”
Fans of the restaurant expressed their sadness over the closure.
One commenter reminisced: “So many memories. Fantastic breakfasts and even better Manhattans. A classic vibe. It’s a shame another great spot falls victim to local politics.”
Another former customer lamented, “This is truly heartbreaking. One of the top spots on the strip.”
Historically, the Roosevelt Hotel has been a significant locale, hosting famous personalities like Marilyn Monroe early in her career and featuring events like Shirley Temple’s tap dances. It has also welcomed other prominent figures, including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
