Michelle Jenneke Engaged to Fellow Track Star Alex Beck
Australian athlete Michelle Jenneke, known for her viral moments on social media, has recently shared some exciting news. During the 2012 IAAF World Championships, her pre-race warm-up routine became a sensation, significantly boosting her recognition and even leading to an appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2013.
Fast forward to now, Jenneke has mostly kept her private life under wraps, sharing mainly workout clips and competition photos with her followers. However, it was revealed on Sunday that she and fellow Australian Olympian, Alex Beck, are engaged after dating for over eight years, a detail they had managed to keep secret from everyone except close family and friends.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared a series of photos, writing, “Eight and a half years in the making.” The announcement featured the couple embracing, with Jenneke proudly displaying her engagement ring.
Jenneke represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where she faced challenges in the 100m hurdles. Unfortunately, she had a similar experience at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Meanwhile, Beck is set to represent Australia in athletics at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Both athletes have had successful careers, each winning multiple medals. Jenneke is celebrated for her achievements on the youth circuit, while Beck has made his mark at events like the Oceania Championship.
