Porsha Williams has refuted speculation about being engaged to her girlfriend, Patrice “Sway” McKinney.
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star shared a candid Instagram Story originally posted by McKinney, in which her partner shut down the engagement rumors and criticized gossip blogs for spreading misinformation.
McKinney questioned an AI-generated image that suggested their engagement, saying, “Does that photo really look like me? [Shaking my head] It’s clearly just AI! Don’t believe everything you see.”
“It’s wild that a blog run by low-budget people can create totally made-up stories and have people believe them. [Shaking my head],” she added.
Over the weekend, a digitally altered picture reportedly showed Williams and McKinney holding hands, with Williams displaying a large diamond ring.
This image prompted some followers to think it was genuine, which led the couple to clear the air.
Williams noted that they had a date planned for November 2025 at a merry-go-round to celebrate McKinney’s birthday, expressing her hopes that the year brings her partner joy.
Just a month earlier, Williams hinted at their evolving relationship during an event in New York City.
McKinney marks Williams’ first publicly acknowledged relationship with a woman, though the reality star had hinted at dating women after her divorce from Simon Guobadia.
Williams married Guobadia in 2022, but their marriage ended in a finalized divorce by June 2025, just 14 months later.
