Longshoremen along the East Coast have officially begun a strike, the effects of which could be devastating for Americans already struggling in the Biden economy.
And longshoremen are not shy about their intentions.
Harold Daggett, president and chief negotiator of the International Longshoremen's Association, warned Americans: “We will cripple you.”
Daggett also detailed how he sees the attack unfolding.
“The first week will be all over the news – boom, boom, boom. The second week, the car sellers can’t sell their cars because the cars aren’t coming off the ship. They’re fired. The third week, the malls start closing. They can't get the goods from China. They can't do that.
“Everything comes in on ships in the United States. They go out of business. Construction workers are laid off because the materials aren't coming in. Steel isn't coming in, lumber isn't coming in. They lose their jobs. Everybody hates longshoremen now because they understand how important our work is now.
Mark Mix, chairman of the National Right to Work Commission, is very concerned about what this means for average Americans.
“Shelves could be empty here in a week or two. So it's going to have a huge impact on the economy and unfortunately on individuals across the country,” Mix told Blaze News Tonight's Jill Savage and Matthew. tells Peterson.
Mr. Mix believes supply chains will be affected all the way into 2025, potentially impacting Christmas shopping, so Americans need to start preparing now.
“For the first week, buy toilet paper, powdered milk, bananas and meat, because the first to suffer are crops and fruit. Then there is clothing, textiles and other imported goods.The construction industry We're looking for metal, wood, things like that, and that lasts three to four weeks,” Mix said.
“From a consumer perspective, there could be problems down the road with some of the basic things that we take for granted,” he added.
