Possible destinations for Eagles' star receiver amid trade speculation

The Eagles seem to be nearing a parting of ways with wide receiver AJ Brown this offseason.

Head coach Nick Sirianni stirred speculation last Friday with some comments about Brown’s future on the team.

Currently, DraftKings is offering odds on where Brown might end up next. Interestingly, the consensus is that he may stay with the NFC East champions, leading the pack with odds of -150.

However, if he chooses to explore new opportunities, teams like the Patriots (+200), Bills (+750), Titans (10/1), and 49ers (12/1) are positioned as potential destinations.

Brown was selected 51st overall by the Titans in 2019 and played three seasons there, showcasing impressive athleticism under head coach Mike Vrabel.

A return to Tennessee to team up with young quarterback Drake Maye is a possibility. After a successful stint with the Eagles, which began with a trade on draft day in 2022, Brown signed a four-year, $100 million contract, reuniting with Jalen Hurts.

In his debut with the Eagles, he made a splash with 10 receptions for 155 yards—a record for debut receiving yards.

His first season with Philadelphia was quite prolific, leading to a franchise record of 1,496 receiving yards.

As a three-time Pro Bowler, he has formed a strong partnership with DeVonta Smith. After a season interrupted by injuries, Brown is back and set for the Eagles’ Super Bowl appearance in 2024.

Last year, he contributed three receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ victory over the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

However, the dynamic between Brown and the Eagles shifted during the start of the 2025 season, as his frustrations regarding unmet goals seemed to escalate.

Moreover, the Eagles’ postseason defeat to the 49ers created a rift, casting a shadow over the team’s successful return to the Super Bowl.

Brown posted 78 receptions for a career-best 1,003 yards, along with seven touchdowns in 15 games. Notably, he secured a three-year, $96 million contract extension through 2029.

This extension complicates any potential departure, as cutting him before June 1st would result in a hefty $72.5 million dead cap hit, equating to a nearly $49 million loss in cap space. A trade, conversely, would still cost the team $43.5 million, dipping into $20.1 million in cap room.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is facing a crucial decision ahead.
